Patsy Lanclos

Ms. Lanclos, a knowledge architect in the field of Information Technology, is a technology consultant providing professional development, technology planning, and technology assessment for many schools and school districts nationally, in 49 states, and internationally as well as for individuals who have not remained current in this digital age.

A retired educator with over 60 years in education, Ms. Lanclos taught graduate level courses at the University of Houston at Clear Lake and was the Coordinator of Secondary Instructional Technology for Spring Branch Independent School District in Houston, Texas. She was charged with developing the vision and goals for instructional technology for SBISD, facilitating the implementation of programs supporting the district's vision goals, including the implementation of technology planning staff development, and the evaluation of the impact of the programs on student achievement.

Ms. Lanclos served as the chair of both the Educational Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC) for the Texas Educational Agency and the Technology Applications Clarification Committee (responsible for writing the curricular framework for the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Texas K-12 students and teachers. She served on the State Board of Educational Certification committee for Teacher Certification Standards for Technology Applications. A past president of the Texas Technology Coordinators (TEC-SIG), she served as Government Relations Chair and Higher Education Liaison for Texas Computer Educators Association.

Ms. Lanclos is an Apple Distinguished Educator, was the recipient of four ComputerWorld - Smithsonian Laureate awards and was selected as TCEA's first Technology Coordinator of the Year as well as a Spring Branch Independent School District Teacher of the Year.

She received the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) Making It Happen Pink Jacket award. She is a reviewer/editor for major textbook companies and has served on the national advisory boards of Apple iWork, George Lucas Educational Foundation Faculty Associate (alpha), Teacher Universe, edHORIZONS, Claris Corporation, Scantron adn the Learning Company.

An Innovator in technology staff development, Ms. Lanclos has implemented a variety of innovative technology academies in over seventy Texas school districts and districts across the 49 out of 50 states in the United States and Mexico. These professional development experiences empowered teachers at the local level to identify personal technological strengths and deficits within a structure that facilitates personal growth in a student-centered, product-based environment. Facilitating staff development opportunities at the campus, district, region, state, national and international levels, she is an accomplished presenter and workshop facilitator. The Bureau of Education & Research, Palm, Inc. and the LoTI Connection chose Ms. Lanclos to be a national trainer.

Currently, Ms. Lanclos is leading an innovative technology experience entitled Technology for Seniors. With the advent of digital technology such as iPhones, iPads, Apple watches, and sophisticated computers, many people, especially those over 50 years of age, have been left behind. Although they have invested in this expensive equipment, knowledge of how to effectively use it is unknown to them. Private session coaching, with participants using their own equipment, in a non-threatening atmosphere and supplied with review notes, has enabled a new technological awareness and literacy, leaving these seniors no longer out of the digital world.
